On June 9^{th, ‘PACIFIC RUBY’ delivered ahead of contract period by all employees of SHGSIC shiprepair department and outside assistant workers’ hard working. On the delivery ceremony, the owners presented an advanced road vehicle to SHGSIC. At 2p.m. the vessel started her first voyage from the wharf after conversion project.}

‘PACIFIC RUBY’ is the first conversion project from VLCC to VLOC for CIDO Company of Korea that is also the third conversion project of SHGSIC since last year. The whole project has taken about 6 months that includes all the conversion items, general repair items and additional items. Such as: the steel work is about 9200tons, the painting work is about 400,000 sqms and also there is a lot of machinery, electricity and piping modification work. The representative of owners thinks highly of the conversion project of ‘PACIFIC RUBY’, ‘the workers of SHGSIC have made great efforts to ‘PACIFIC RUBY’ and give brith to her that proves the original conversion faith and strong ability of SHGSICin the meanwhile,’ he said.

        The DWT of ‘PACIFIC RUBY’ is 255,000tons after her conversion, upon delivery, the vessel Pacific Ruby will go maiden first voyage to ocean to carry Iron Ore between Brazil and China.
