TIV-1 is the first turbine installation vessel in the world, which is built by Shanhaiguan Shipyard of China Shipbuiding lndustry Corporation (CSIC) for Mayflower Energy Limited.

     The vessel has 4 azimuth thrusters for propulsion and steering, 3 bow thrusters used for maneuvering, 2 cranes for lifting operations (one 300t, and one 50t), 6 legs with hydraulic jacking systems for jacking up the vessel from the sea, and the dead weight is about 14,000 tons. It is combination of shipping, self-propelled, platform with jacking systems, and floating cranes. The automatic systems are most advanced in the world, which consists of unattended engine rooms, enclosed wheel house, multi-points control, monitor and alarm system. Middle-voltage electric propulsion system, frequency converters, dynamic positioning system, CCTV monitoring system. internet on board, intelligent fire alarm system and so on. The vessel is built with all the functions into one unit, and the building meets all the rules and regulations for ships, platforms and floating cranes, as well as the standards of America Welding Society(AWS)and Det Norske Veritas(DNV),and the precision of construction is in compliance with the standards of IACS. The building of TIV-1 fills in the gaps in the fields of shipbuilding not only in China but also in the world.
